App Terms of Service & End User License Agreement

Welcome to KOFFIE! We are a community-driven platform dedicated to tracking, reviewing, and discovering great coffee and cafes. By creating an account or using our application, you agree to these Terms of Service.

1. User Accounts and Authentication

Account Creation: To log beans and cafe visits, you must create an account using Apple Sign-In or an Email/Password combination.

Account Security: You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials. We use third-party services to securely manage authentication.

Account Termination: We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time if you violate these terms, particularly regarding User-Generated Content.

2. User-Generated Content (UGC)

Because our app features a "Community Feed" and allows users to upload photos and text, you must adhere to the strictly enforced rules below regarding user-generated content.

Content Ownership: You retain ownership of the photos, ratings, and reviews you log in the app. By toggling a bean entry to public, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to display that content on the Community Feed.

Prohibited Content: You may not upload photos or text that are offensive, hateful, defamatory, discriminatory, sexually explicit, pornographic, infringing on the intellectual property of others, or irrelevant spam (e.g., uploading non-coffee/cafe related imagery).

Moderation & Reporting: We reserve the right to remove any content that violates these terms without notice. Users can report inappropriate content or block other users directly within the app.

3. Cafe and Bean Data Accuracy

Personal Logs: Tasting sliders and ratings are subjective. We do not guarantee the accuracy of community reviews.

Location Data: Cafe addresses and GPS coordinates are provided by users or third-party APIs. We are not responsible for closed businesses, incorrect addresses, or poor experiences at third-party locations.

4. Third-Party Integrations and E-commerce

Shopify Purchases: Certain beans in the app may feature a "Buy These Beans" link. We use the Shopify Storefront API to facilitate these links.

No Endorsement or Liability: We are not the seller of these beans (unless explicitly stated). We are not responsible for shipping, fulfillment, refunds, or customer service regarding physical products purchased through third-party storefronts.

5. App Usage and Licensing

License Grant: We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app on your iOS or Android devices in accordance with App Store and Google Play Store Terms of Service.

Restrictions: You may not reverse-engineer, scrape data from, or attempt to hack the backend database of this application.

6. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the app and its developers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app. We provide the app "as is" and do not guarantee 100% uptime or data retention.
